GoHealth Goes the Extra Mile
What better way to communicate emergency medicine to a child than through the eyes of their own furry friends. Northwell Health’s GoHealth urgent care providers recently met with children and their teddy bears on a one-on-one basis to help put them at ease in an urgent care setting. Children provided comfort to their furry friends by bandaging, and weighing them as our providers explained health and urgent care issues.
“It’s important for children not to fear medicine. The children explained which injuries and health issues their stuffed animals were having and we then we treated the beloved bears accordingly,” says Dr. Mohammed Kasaji, one of GoHealth’s urgent care physicians.
GoHealth Urgent Care has more than 27 centers in New York, with recently opened new locations in Chelsea and Bayside. At least seven centers are planned to open in Manhattan, New Dorp, Dobbs Ferry, Huntington Station, Amityville, Smithtown, and Hampton Bays in upcoming months. All centers offer online wait times, online or walk-in appointments, and integrated electronic medical records. To find a center near you, visit gohealthuc.com
Note: If you are enrolled in a Northwell Health medical plan a visit to one of our in-system GoHealth Urgent Care Centers is only $20 in 2016 and 2017!
Love this concept. I only wish they had it when I was growing up and maybe I would not have had such a fear of doctors growing up
