Let’s Stress Less in 2017!

Posted by: Sally Ann Lake

Happy New Year Northwell Health!

Let’s start off 2017 on a positive note by checking what stresses us at the door. For example:

  • Shutdown by turning off your cell phones during meals and family time
  • Relax by opening yourself up to new experiences, such as yoga or meditation classes
  • Refresh by breathing in some fresh winter air
  • Rejuvenate by catching up on sleep while the nights are long
  • Give back by thanking someone or helping others in need
  • Treat yourself by being active and social with loved ones and others

Northwell Health’s Employee Wellness Team, along with the Employee Assistance Program, is here to help you stress less in 2017 with the many programs they offer, including access to the next wellness challenge, Stress Less, now open for registration on myWellness.

The Stress Less six-week wellness challenge is live for participation January 16 through February 26.

Answer Yes or No just once a week and earn 250 weekly reward points, redeemable for lifestyle gifts through myRecognition, all while proactively managing your stress.

Always click “Save” after you enter your tracking information. If you missed a day, you have the ability to backtrack and submit your answer up to two weeks. It’s that simple!

Be a Wellness Warrior and Win Big in 2017

Those who complete two out of the three wellness challenges held November 7, 2016 through May 14, 2017 will be deemed a Wellness Warrior and eligible to win a fabulous trip of their choice, announced in June, 2017. To learn more, visit the employee intranet>department>employee health>employee wellness or email mywellness@northwell.edu.

If you are experiencing an unmanageable amount of stress, contact the Northwell Health Employee Assistance Program at 877-327-4968 or visit the employee intranet>department>employee health>employee assistance program.

Here’s to a happy, healthy and stress-free new year!
