Ready to build your 2018 well-being toolbox?

If getting healthy makes the top 3 on your New Year’s Resolution list, here are highlights of well-being tools you can access right away. Explore these and other resources accessible via your myWellness account, whether you log in at Northwell.edu/myWellness, or use the corresponding Virgin Pulse mobile app.

Log-in to your myWellness account. Go to PROGRAMS.  On the left, you can FILTER BY TOPICS. Or click All. Each of these categories has many options to explore. On the right, are summaries and links of resources.

  1. SelfHelp Works LIVINGLEAN – A video coaching program designed to help you beat cravings and change your habits. Open your mind to something new so you begin to feel control — over what, when, and how much you eat! Several Northwell employees who completed Living Lean report a shift in how they are eating as well as successful weight loss and maintenance. No cost.
  2. Virgin Pulse Nutrition Guide – Create a nutrition profile using the Nutrition Guide, and you’ll receive the free health tips and recipes enewsletter from Zipongo. Through the Nutrition Guide, you’ll maximize features in myWellness that track calories, healthy habits and weight, plus, you’ll have access to hundreds of healthy recipes. No cost.
  3. Weight Watchers – Have you heard about the new Weight Watchers Freestyle Program? Looking for a Weight Watchers At-Work program? Sign-up for a Weight Watchers webinar to learn more. Employees receive a discounted rate and 50% reimbursement for a covered Weight Watchers program when they meet the attendance requirements.
  4. The Center for Weight Management – Northwell Health offers a multi-disciplinary approach involving medical, psychological and nutritional assessments followed by an individualized treatment plan. Our team consists of a physician, psychologist, and nutritionists who work with each patient to teach goal setting, medically-supervised weight/behavioral management, planning skills, and problem-solving. Insurance plans accepted.
